As of January 1st 2012, Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) is subject to Ontario's Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FIPPA).

FIPPA has two core purposes:
- Freedom of Information: to provide a right of access to records under the custody or control of public bodies.
- Protection of Privacy: to protect the privacy of individuals from unauthorized use or disclosure by public bodies.
Personal health information continues to be subject to Ontario's Personal Health Information Protection Act (PHIPA). If you are seeking access to your health records or personal health information, please contact Health Information Services.
