AutoPulse Resuscitation Technology at Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital
Alexandria, ON – Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) is pleased to announce the recent purchase of the latest in resuscitation technology, the AutoPulse resuscitation system, thanks to the generosity of the Auxiliary. This state-of-the-art equipment will greatly enhance the ability to provide life-saving treatment to patients in cardiac arrest.
The AutoPulse Resuscitation System provides high-quality automated chest compressions during CPR, improving blood flow to the heart and brain, providing a better outcome for the patient. This eliminates the need for manual compressions, which can be tiring and inconsistent, and allows medical staff to focus on other life-saving measures for the patient.
“The implementation of the AutoPulse Resuscitation System at Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital is a major step forward in providing innovative care for our patients” said Chief of Staff, Dr. Lisa MacKinnon. President and CEO, Robert Alldred-Hughes added “We are incredibly grateful to the Auxiliary for their dedication and commitment to improving healthcare in our community. This purchase is a testament to their efforts to support our hospital and the patients we serve.”
The Hospital has been training staff in the Emergency Department on how to use the device with the official implementation taking place on February 1st, 2023.
Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital is committed to providing the highest level of care to patients and the addition of the AutoPulse Resuscitation System is a vital step towards achieving this goal.
