Change in Masking Guidelines at Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital

Posted on Tuesday October 17, 2023

Alexandria, ON – Hôpital Glengarry Memorial Hospital (HGMH) has announced a change in its masking guidelines in response to the recent increase in respiratory illnesses. The decision aims to enhance the safety and well-being of both patients and healthcare workers.

With the rise in respiratory illnesses in our community, HGMH is taking proactive measures to ensure the highest level of protection and care for all patients and staff. Effective immediately, masks are required to be worn upon entry, in all areas of the hospital, and are available at all entrances. This applies to staff, physicians, volunteers, patients and their families and visitors.

“We are committed to the safety of our patients and staff” said Robert Alldred-Hughes, President & CEO of HGMH. “The decision to update our masking guidelines is a proactive step to protect everyone who enters our facilities, especially in light of the recent increase in respiratory illness in our community.”

HGMH continues to closely monitor the situation and collaborate with local health authorities to adapt our protocols as necessary. We appreciate the collaboration and cooperation of the community.
