Swimming Lessons

  • Starfish/Duck - for toddlers or older babies with a parent or caregiver.
  • Sea Turtle - Develops skills in swimming, glides and floating.
  • Salamander - New skills including assisted floats and glides through games and songs.
  • Sunfish - Preschoolers work on stroke and skills progressions
  • Crocodile - Start independent glides and kicking in deep water.
  • Whale - Swimmers will increase their distance, and improve skills in front and back swims.
  • Swim kids 1 - Provides for orientation in the water and pool area and introduces floats and glides with kicks.
  • Swim kids 2 - Children are introduced to deep water activities and proper use of a personal flotation device. Develop skills in front and back swims
  • Swim kids 3 - Intro to front crawl as well as the foundation for making wise choices on where and when to swim.
  • Swim kids 4 - Work on kneeling dives, surface support and develop greater sense of self safety by understanding own limits.
  • Swim kids 5 - Back crawl is introduced, along with sculling skills and whip kick on the back.


Register for swimming lessons in person at the pool 15 minutes prior to the class beginning.  Check our pool schedule for details.


Classes are subject to cancellation due to insufficient registration. In the event that the HGMH Pool must cancel a class due to weather or mechanical problems, every attempt will be made to reschedule the class.
