Vaccination Requirements for Visitors and Essential Care Partners:

Current data from Public Health shows that partially vaccinated individuals are over 10 times more likely to be infected with COVID-19, and unvaccinated individuals are over 21 times more likely. For those visiting our hospital, there is a clear and meaningful safety benefit to requiring vaccination.

Effective Tuesday, September 7th All Visitors and Essential Care Partners will be required to complete an attestation that they are fully vaccinated with a WHO approved vaccine (at least 14 days post second dose). Individuals who are not fully vaccinated will not be permitted entry unless they meet the following exemptions:

  1. Those who clearly indicate they have a medical exemption
  2. Those visiting patients at the end-of-life
  3. Parents of children under the age of 16
  4. Those coming to the Emergency Department
  5. Individuals who are essential to accompany patients to appointments or participate in care planning discussions

Visiting hours:
Patients can identify two (2) vaccinated Essential Visitors, however, only one (1) vaccinated Essential Visitor can come in at a time between the hours of 10am and 8pm, seven (7) days per week.

Visitors must be screened through the Emergency Department Entrance and continue to follow our infection prevention and control procedures and Public Health restrictions.
